Harun M. Hashim Law Centre
About Us
The Harun M. Hashim Law Centre (formerly known as The Law Centre) was established in July 1997 and started its operation in 1998 to run and conduct Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programmes of the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The establishment of the Centre is not only desirable but also essential in the light of changing events in the teaching and practice of law. There has been significant development in certain specialized fields of legal activity, such as Intellectual Property, International Trade, Marine Insurance, Shipping, New Financial Instruments, Islamic Financial, Takaful, Building and Construction Law and Cyberspace Law.
Ordinary law graduates are not adequately equipped to practice or offer advises efficiently in these areas of great national importance. The Centre would seek to redress this situation by formulating and offering a number of legal courses aimed at producing legal experts in these and other areas, thus playing an important role in filling the lacunae being currently experienced. The Centre also would be a centre for consultation on legal matters and publication of legal materials.
The Harun M. Hashim Law Centre is committed to establish itself as a center of Legal Educational Excellence, offering high quality tertiary-level education with a flexible system that enable life-long education.
